When I was researching buffets in Las Vegas the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar’s Palace often came up and it promised to be a world-class dining experience that few places can match! This iconic establishment is more than just a buffet—it’s promised to be an unparalleled gastronomic adventure that will take your taste buds on a global journey. From its luxurious ambiance to the exquisite variety of dishes, Bacchanal Buffet is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and casual diners alike – so naturally we had to try it!
What to do when you have no reservations
When we arrived we were surprised at how crowded the halls were. People were lined up everywhere and there were many different lines so it was a bit confusing. We went in Christmas time so you can imagine the crowd was thick!
Reservations can be made ahead of time and is preferred. If you have no reservation, then you can still get in but the wait is longer. You have to join a special line and wait for a staff member to let you into the main line with those people that have reservations.
We waited like 45 minutes and we got in!
When you have no reservation for the Bacchanal Buffet do this:
- Ask a buffet staff member where is the line for people with no reservations (walk-ins), you will see staff often manning the lines and they have tags so they are easily recognizable from guests.
- Join the walk-ins line ( when we went it was right behind the lobster sign)
- Wait for a staff member to let you into the reservation line ( wait could be about 45 minutes depending on the season)
- When its your turn, they will send you to a station to pay
- Join another line to get seated

When we went, the signs weren’t super clear and we got turned around a bit but if you enter from the main entrance and you can go straight through to the casino, you will see the sign for the Bacchanal Buffet.

My honest opinion about the Bacchanal Buffet, Las Vegas
I think it’s overrated.
For context, I went for dinner during the holidays December 2024, and also I don’t eat red meat so keep that in mind. The Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace promised a celebration of culinary excellence, however as a person that only eat chicken and cooked seafood, I did not find much tasty options at the buffet.
To me the best thing were the crab legs but I don’t really eat crabs like that, so couldn’t eat too much of that. The chicken wings were good too and that was all the meat I could eat there.
There was so many Asian dishes and I was starting to wonder if the chef was Asian, there was a lot of prawns, Asian steamed dumplings, spring rolls, Korean kimchi, Peking duck, Edaname and more. I saw pizza but I did not try them, I tried the tacos but they were not good. There was brisket and pork options too that I don’t eat.
What was more astounding to me was what was not there. Even tough some of these I don’t eat but for the price I though they would have it:
- I saw no steak
- I saw no lobster tail
- I saw no pasta dishes
- I saw no fried chicken ( but there was fried wings)
- I saw no hot shrimp dishes, only cold shrimp on ice ( but there were shrimp sliders)
So the dinner menu was disappointing to me. For the deserts, I was equally disappointed. There was fresh fruits (pineapples, watermelon, honey due, etc..) those were good. However, the pastries look like it would fit in at Golden Coral buffet more than at the prestigious Bacchanal Buffet. There were lots of gelatin looking deserts and cake that looks manufactured, I passed those up but my 9 year old fully enjoyed it. . The ice cream line was too long so I didn’t get any, but they had a variety of ice cream options.
So my dining experience at the Bacchanal Buffet was definitely forgettable, the service was good, the dining hall was luxurious but the menu needs more variety in my opinion. I can’t imagine what vegans would eat! Nevertheless, the crowds keep coming so many people still like it – try it for yourself and see what you think!
